Explore South Africa from A to Zebra on this incredible Independence by Globus Africa adventure. A variety of experiences await including moving history in Johannesburg, magnificent landscapes in Cape Town, and a menagerie of wild creatures on safari in a private game reserve. In Cape Town, spectacular views from the Cape of Good Hope deliver astonishing panoramas, peninsulas, and African penguins playing in the surf of Boulders Beach. Take some I-time for wine tasting or whale watching off the Cape. Things get even wilder on safari where you‘ll search for the “Big 5” (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo) and a host of wondrous wildlife, including rhino, giraffe, hippo, cheetah, and hyena – just to name a few. Toast your safari adventure with traditional sundowner drinks in the bush and luxurious safari accommodations waiting at day’s end.

You’ll then fly to Zimbabwe to explore the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls in spectacular celebration of your African adventure. Explore Chobe National Park by game drives or boat excursions amid some of Africa’s most magnificent wildlife. Day 1   ARRIVE IN CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Day 2   CAPE TOWN


• Start your private guided sightseeing with a cable-car ride up Table Mountain for stunning views over the “Mother City.”
• Nature calls during a your visit to Boulders Beach where a colony of endangered African Penguins greet you with their unique sound.
• At Cape Point Nature Reserve, stop at the Cape of Good Hope for photos and memorable views where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Then on to Cape Point, for a funicular ride to the steps of the old lighthouse. On your return journey, skirt the rocky coastline as you ascend Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the most spectacular drives in the world.

Day 4   CAPE TOWN–GREATER KRUGER NATIONAL PARK AREA


• Fly to the Greater Kruger National Park area and transfer to your lodge in a private game reserve, home to an abundance of wildlife including the famed “Big 5”—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo.
• Set out on your first game drive this afternoon in an open-air, 4-wheel-drive safari vehicle.

Day 8   JOHANNESBURG


• Today’s private guided sightseeing tour starts with a visit to the Apartheid Museum to learn of the history of South Africa before delving into the apartheid years.
• In Soweto (South Western Township), the largest township in the country, visit Mandela House and see the neighborhood that was home to Nobel Peace Prize winners Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before transferring back to your hotel for time at leisure.

Day 9   JOHANNESBURG–VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE


• Today, fly to Zimbabwe, home of awe-inspiring Victoria Falls.

• Fly to the famed Okavango Delta, a vast area featuring various ecosystems—wetlands, mopane forest, flood plains, and dry savannah woodland—ideal conditions for game viewing.
• Afternoon game activity: choice of game drive, bush walk, or mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursion.

• Join your expert Ranger for morning and afternoon game activities in this UNESCO World Heritage Site: choice of game drive, bush walk, or mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursion. Spot cheetah, hyena, impala, Cape buffalo, and more. If you are lucky, you might even see the reclusive leopard.

For approximately one month each year, typically from late July to late August, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is closed for annual maintenance. In these instances, a private tour of Kirstenbosch National Garden will be included in its place.

All game viewing is done at your own risk. We will require a signed liability waiver prior to travel.

Booking your Vacation with Air

For air departure dates within 331 days, you'll be offered a choice of carriers and flight schedules as well as price points to choose from when selecting your flights. Your schedule will be provided to you at the time of booking (schedules are subject to change by carriers). Globus offers 2 air options: Flex Air and Instant Purchase Air. Flex Air allows flexibility if you want to make changes to your vacation schedule. Instant Purchase Air may offer additional airline options but has more restrictions. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option.

Guaranteed air-inclusive prices: air is only available to passengers travelling from Canada (with some exceptions from the United States, depending on the selected itinerary). An additional $300 per person non-refundable air deposit is required for Flex Air booked in conjunction with any land vacation (i.e. air-inclusive vacation). Air can only be booked by Globus in conjunction with a vacation package. Instant Purchase Air requires air payment in full at time of booking (i.e. air-inclusive vacation) plus a non-refundable service fee of $80 per person. Once booked, Instant Purchase Air is non-refundable, and non-changeable. Once your airfare is confirmed and Globus has received your full air and land deposit, your air-inclusive vacation price is guaranteed.

Air-Inclusive Vacations — Applicable Taxes & Fees

Air inclusive price quotes will include all government-imposed taxes and fees applicable at the time of booking and will be shown as a Total Amount. Additional airline fees for baggage may apply. At the time of booking your air-inclusive vacation online, carrier Websites will be provided to check baggage fees, or you can visit www.iflybags.com for up-to-date baggage pricing/restrictions. The total airfare price, the base airfare price, and the applicable government taxes and fees are broken-out line-by-line and shown while booking online and on the invoice after your travel is booked. For return travel from some countries, international travellers are required to pay entry and/or exit fees at the airport. These fees will be collected by the local government and are payable by the traveller at time of travel. Your confirmation booking information will contain information about these fees.
